Towards the Southern area of the Province of Buenos Aires, the lowland gives space to the hill systems of Tandilia and Ventania, a dream land for adventurers.
Tandilia extends through the districts of Azul, Balcarce, Benito Juárez, General Pueyrredón, Olavarría and Tandil. It is one of the oldest geological formations of the Earth; its origin is calculated in a period around 1,500 and 2,200 million years ago and their flat summits do not exceed 600 metres high.
The Ventania System, which received its name for the opening in the stone in one of its hills, has numerous clearings and caves. It extends through the districts of Coronel Pringles, Coronel Suárez, Puán, Saavedra and Tornquist, where we can find its highest summit, Cerro Tres Picos with 1,239 metres high.

If you decide on the rural area, you can enjoy gathering at peñas, fortines (small forts), traditions from gauchos, cuisine criolla (local food from colonial times), rural residencies called estancias, pulperías (small stores), countryside warehouses, popular celebrations and lowlands landscapes near the sea, hills, lagoons and cities.
To enjoy a day at the countryside is a perfect plan which includes typical flavours as asado, empanadas, wine, cold cuts, pastelitos and dulce de leche; also, old carriages or bike rides, horse-riding, classic sports, traditional folklore dancing and a lot of peace in the immensity and silence of the Pampa húmeda ( wetlands).
Horses, gauchos and their associated activities are the main protagonists of this region where one can experience life in the countryside: saw and harvest, horse dressage, reining, cuisine and tasting.
